Fort Dodge papers of Thursday evening tell of the death of Mrs. E.M. Williams, a former resident of the city and Grinnell. Mr. Williams was formerly with the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company in this city, and went to Fort Dodge when the district headquarters were transferred to Fort dodge in 1899. The Messenger and Chronicle of Thursday evening says:

"After four years of constant suffering, Mrs. E.M. Williams died at 9 p.m. Wednesday at her home on North Fifteenth Street.

Mrs. Williams was born in Belleville, Canada, March 26, 1860. In the year 1868 the Stickle family moved to Grinnell, Iowa, where, with the exception of eight years in Pekin, Ill., Miss Stickle lived until her marriage to E. M. Williams in 1893. Mr. and Mrs. Williams made their home in Marshalltown until they moved to Fort Dodge in 1899.

Mrs. Williams was an active member of the First Methodist church, the Art club, of which she was a charter member, and the Eastern Star, who honored her with the office of worthy matron.

Her varied activities were suddenly interrupted on September 6, 1913, when she suffered a stroke of apoplexy while entertaining a number of her friends. From that date she has been confined to her home, excepting such diversion as she could secure from her wheelchair. A second stroke seized her last Monday morning. From that time until her death she was in a condition of coma.

The funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the residence, 224 North Fifteenth street, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.H. Spence. Burial will be made in Oakland Cemetery."
