BOOR, Donald "Don" Michael, age 76, of Ashland, Virginia passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Joseph and Rebecca Jane Boor, and his sister, Sylvia Moore. Known as "Mick" at work, he was employed with AT&T for 39 years and held many positions with the company before retirement. AT&T had a special disaster recovery team, Mick served in a role on the team and provided communication services during disasters, including 9/11. He was an active member at Ashland Christian Church as an elder, choir member, and prior board chair. He was known to many as "Mr. Fix-it", there was nothing he couldn't do. Don was a member of the Masonic Lodge 168 where he served as past Master in 1980 and served as District Deputy Grand Master of the 8th Masonic District in 2019. Don is survived by his wife, Barbara Sands Boor; sons, Troy Boor (Evelyn), Tony Boor (Julie), and Donnie Boor (Tress); grandchildren, Amanda Boor (Ryan Soares), Amelia Reed (Jesse), Ethan Boor (Sarah), Abby Boor, Joey Boor, Cole Boor, Stephanie Burchanowski (Stephen), Nate Boor, and Joshua Boor; great-grandchildren, Sadie Burchanowski, Sophie Burchanowski, Carter Soares, Ryleigh Soares, Scarlett Reed, and Emmy Reed; and brother, Brent Boor (Jackie).
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Ashland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 301 S. James St., Ashland, VA 23005.
