Philip's burial place is unmarked but he's probably buried at Doylestown Mennonite Cemetery with several of his siblings. Philip was born about 1786, and not in the 1770's as widely assumed. A petition to the Bucks County Orphan's Court in August 1802 states that Philip is a minor over the age of 14, so born 1781-1788. Given a sister born in 1783 who did not petition the Orphan's Court for a guardian, Philip was probably born about 1786. This would make him the son of Jacob by Jacob's fourth wife Anna Trissel, rather than by Jacob's second wife, Miss Fly.

Philip was enumerated in the 1820 census in Warwick/New Britain Twp, Bucks County. At that time he had three sons. His daughter Elizabeth was born later that year. Philip probably died shortly after 1820 as he had no further children after 1820. One of the sons probably also died shortly after 1820 as Philip is acknowledged as the father of two sons and one daughter. He left no estate records to confirm who his children were or when he died.
