A celebration of life for Donald William Vaughn 92, Lawrence Kansas, will be on December 4, 2022, 2:00 pm at Meadowlark Estates, 4430 Bauer Farm Drive, Lawrence Kansas.
He was born February 3, 1930 north west of Yates Center, Kansas, to Warren P. Vaughn and Edith V. (King) Vaughn.
Mr. Vaughn graduated from Yates Center High School in 1948.
He married Wilma Kathryn Morton in Batesville Kansas, February 12, 1950. In 1956 Don and Wilma moved to Lawrence, Kansas. Don was employed at the wastewater treatment plant for 36 years. He became plant supervisor around 1965. He was a member of the Kansas Wastewater Pollution Control Association. Don was active in the Douglas County Genealogical Society. Don had done extensive research on his family line. Don loved playing golf, played the organ and piano, enjoyed woodworking and spoiling his grandkids.
Don was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Lawrence, Kansas.
Wilma passed away on July 9, 2006. A daughter; Marlene K. Knapp passed earlier, August 12, 2022.
The family suggests memorials to the church sent in care of the funeral home.
