Hazel B. Milford, 100 passed away December 6, 2023. Hazel was born on March 18, 1923, in Louisville, OH, the daughter of the late Ralph R. and Mami T. (Woolf) Newhouse. After graduating from Louisville High School in 1941 she worked for several years at Burger Iron Co., first in manufacturing and then as a secretary, marrying Herbert W. Milford Oct. 8, 1944, in Rapid City, SD while he was serving in the army.

Herbert preceded Hazel in death Feb. 19, 1999. Also preceding her in death were seven brothers Louis, Dillen, George, Donald, Paul, Wendel and Jack, and four sisters, Ethel Harvey, Ruth Block, Josephine Jonson, and Nancy. She is survived by two sons, Thomas J. of Canton, and Gene F. (Laurie) of Akron; two granddaughters, Susan (Grant) Cook of Alliance, OH and Patricia (Ray) Hoyt of Tulsa, OK; three great grandchildren Riley and Reagan Hoyt and Jane Cook; one step granddaughter Alyssa Hoyt; sisters-in-law Helen (Jack) Newhouse of Kokomo, IN and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Milford worked in the kitchen at Lincoln HS and later retired as a manager at JOANN Fabrics at Belden Village. She volunteered at Aultman Hospital for 24 yrs. and as a quilter at St Joseph's Catholic Church for 20 yrs. She was a 75 plus year member of Dueber United Methodist Church, where she was a Member of the Trail Blazer 5.5 Class.

Funeral services celebrating Hazel's life will be held on Tuesday December 12th at 1:00 PM at Reed Funeral Home 705 Raff Rd SW Canton, OH with Pastor James Nolte officiating. Visitation 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Interment at Forest Hill Cemetery.
