Nona Ann Prestine passed away peacefully at Rennes-East of Peshtigo, WI on December 6, 2023. She was a resident there since April of 2020. She was the only child of Harris and Myrtle Prestine of Peshtigo, WI, born July 1, 1948, and attended Peshtigo Schools.


Nona attended UW Marinette and UW Oshkosh where she earned her teaching degree. After first teaching in Oconto, WI, she later moved to Whitewater, WI to teach in Middle School. Deciding to earn her PhD, Nona attended UW Madison where she graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1988.

She moved to Champaign-Urbana where she taught at the University of Illinois. Nona was then recruited by Penn State University in State College, PA to teach Education and Leadership there. Teaching was her life and she really enjoyed Pennsylvania.


At her request there will be no service.

Following cremation, she will be laid to rest with her parents at Peshtigo Riverside Cemetery.
