Roger was the son of Nathaniel "Nat" Polly from Letcher Kentucky and Juanita Vaughn Watts also of Letcher Kentucky. Roger grew up on Bottom Fork, Kentucky where he lived with his parents Nat and Juanita and siblings Joanne, Daniel, Denver, Ben, Nate and Juanita. He joined the Army in the 1960s and married his wife Janice Lynn Farmer in Clintwood Virginia 17 Nov 1965. Roger was a long-time employee of the Ford Motor company and lived in Lorain Ohio with his wife and three sons, Chris, Brian and Todd for many years before retiring to Randolph Texas. Roger was also a Master Mason and helped anyone he could in this life. Roger was preceded in death by his parents Nat and Juanita, Sister Joanne, brothers Dan and Denver "Frog" and also his oldest son Christopher "Chris" Keith Polly.
