Betty was born on April 15, 1937, to Raymond R. and Oneita Wilcox, in Goldthwaite (Mills County). She attended schools in Seminole. She married Frank Kidd on July 25, 1953 in Seminole. They moved to Brownfield in 1975 where she worked as a clerk for the Justice of the Peace for many years. Betty was a member of the Eastern Stars and a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Kidd of Brownfield; three daughters, Sheri Wood and her husband Wayne of Amarillo, Linda Kennedy and her husband Randy of Andrews, and Donna Prosser and her husband Doug of Carrollton; six grandchildren, Chris Wood, Greg Kennedy, Angela Kennedy, Ryan Kennedy, Mitchell Prosser, and Devin Prosser; four great-grandchildren, Tatum Kennedy, Blake Kennedy, Neeley Wood, and McKenna Wood; one brother, Jimmy Wilcox and his wife Pat of Carlsbad; and a sister, Laphane Burkett of Seminole. Family visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008.
