John Thomas Greeves O'Sullivan (1875-1920), eldest son of John Thomas O'Sullivan (1849-1920) of Ballycurrin Galway/Mayo and Mary Anne Josephine Greeves of Nuns Island, Galway.

Known as Jack, JT moved from Ballycurrin to Ballinasloe in Galway where he met his wife Ellen Molahan (1870-1949). He was a mechanic in the town running his own motorworks shop selling bicycles, motorbikes and cars. JT became a prominent member of the Irish Volunteers in Ballinasloe and he was an avid supporter of Home Rule for Ireland. JT held the rank of Captain in the Ballinasloe Irish Volunteers. He later fought in WW1 as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 6th Connaught Rangers and was eventually promoted to the rank of Capatin in the Labour Corps.

He sadly took his own life far from home due to PTSD after the war and he is buried in a common grave within the cemetery. Posted as a memorial in his honour. He left behind his wife and 9 children. JT is my great great grandfather.
