Loretta Jo Fischer, of McKinney, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023.
Loretta was born on February 23, 1940, in Antlers, Oklahoma, to John David McNeely and Mini Lee McNeely (nee Williams), Loretta's life was marked by her loving nature, unwavering friendliness, and adventurous spirit.
A graveside committal will take place on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 2:30 PM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211.
Loretta attended Adamson High School in Dallas, Texas, where her bright mind and warm heart won her many friends. She went on to further her education in college, laying the foundation for what would be a remarkable career. Loretta dedicated 41 years of service to Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where her professionalism and commitment to excellence were evident to all who worked with her. Her involvement in the company extended beyond her professional duties, as she actively participated in various association events, sharing her passion for her work with others.
Married to her beloved husband, Joseph Fischer, for 48 years, Loretta's life was filled with love and shared experiences. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, including an unforgettable road trip from Texas to Alaska in their cherished motorhome. Loretta's love for travel also saw her accompanying Joe on several overseas work trips, each journey enriching her life with new memories and stories to tell.
Loretta's interests were as diverse as they were engaging. She was an avid bowler, often hitting the lanes with Joe and enjoying the friendly competition. Her dedication to maintaining family connections shone through in her genealogy research, as she pieced together the rich tapestry of her family's history. A talented baker, Loretta's kitchen was a place of warmth and delicious aromas, while her passion for yard work ensured her garden was a sight to behold.
Loretta is survived by her steadfast husband, Joseph, and their children: Richard Fischer (Dawn), Troy Fischer, Tonya Fischer (Anthony), and Angela Trammell (Kevin). Her legacy also lives on through her siblings, Glenda Williams, David McNeely, and Rodney McNeely, who will miss her deeply. Loretta is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
