Richard "Rick" B. Acord, 61, of Sorrento, Florida, died Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the Lake Monroe Hospital in Sanford, Florida. He was born on February 13, 1962 in Columbus, the son of the late Willis and Opal (Dotson) Acord.

Survivors include his sons, Josh (Tia) Acord and Braxton Acord, a daughter, Victoria Acord, grandchildren, Hunter and Olivia Acord, and his brother, Randy (Kim) Acord. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, Rusty Acord.

Rick was a basketball player for Findlay High School where he was coached by Roger Renz and was a first team all-state forward. He was a fan of Larry Bird and the Celtics, enjoyed golfing, fishing, and most of all he loved his dogs. Rick graduated from the University of Akron with a bachelor's degree in education.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 4-8 pm at the COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Metzger officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
