Cecelia C. Canning
Cecelia Collins Canning, 93, of Marco Island, Fla., died Sunday morning, March 6, 2005, at her home surrounded by her two daughters and sons-in-law. Formerly from Bethlehem, she was born February 23, 1912, to Eugene and Annie Alice (Pflueger) Collins and the last of eight children. After residing in Bethlehem for 88 years, she moved to Marco Island with her husband in 2000 to be near her daughters and enjoy the Florida sunshine. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Edward A. Canning, who currently resides in Heritage Healthcare Center, Naples.
Survivors: Husband; daughters, Patricia (John) Matthews of Marco Island, Constance (Robert) Golden of Boca Raton, Fla.; granddaughters, Maria (Jason) Chandler of New York City, Alexis C. (Wade) Myers and Samantha Golden, all of Denver, Colo.; great-granddaughters, Katherine Blake Chandler, Brianna Rain Myers.
Services: memorial, 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, Wesley United Methodist Church, 350 S. Barfield Drive, Marco Island. Arrangements, Fuller Funeral Home, Naples, Fla.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the church or Edgeboro Moravian Church, 645 Hamilton Ave., Bethlehem 18017.
