Dorothy Ruth Hunt Hahn, 90, recently of Austin, Texas and formerly of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at 9:18 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2023, at Arden Courts of Austin.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 5, 2024, at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Visitation at 10:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at First United Methodist Church in Hannibal. Pastor Kim Parker will officiate. A private family burial will be held later at Grand View Burial Park.

Dottie was born January 3, 1933, in Hannibal to Howard and Ruth Presler Hunt. She was married to Dale Hahn in Jacksonville, Illinois on November 3, 1956.

She is survived by daughters Ellen Vince and husband Ron of St. Louis, Missouri; Sarah Todd and husband David of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Dillon Todd of Lenexa, Kansas; Owen Todd of Austin, Texas; Jennifer Todd of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Andrea Vince and husband Jo of Bourbon, Missouri; great-granddaughter Thea Pang of Bourbon, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister Alma Ritter.

Dottie attended public schools in Hannibal, graduating from Hannibal High School in 1951. She attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois and graduated from the University of Missouri Columbia. Dottie first worked as a commercial artist at Western Printing. She later taught English and art at Hannibal Middle School for 30 years, followed by art appreciation at Hannibal LaGrange College for several years. Mrs. Hahn was an excellent educator and was always thrilled to see former students around Hannibal. She volunteered as a docent with Jane Clemens Neighbors in downtown historic Hannibal.

Dottie was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, and a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and Chapter BR of P.E.O. She was a talented seamstress, pianist, and cook. She enjoyed playing bridge and traveling, especially to Pawleys Island, South Carolina for beach vacations. Most of all, she loved her family.
