Al was born December 23, 1947 to Elroy Phillip, Sr. and Flora Emily (Fesk) Brabender in Menominee, MI.

After high school, Al joined the United States Marine Corps in September of 1966 where he spent thirteen months at Chu Lui Base in Vietnam.
After the service, he worked for the Pamona, CA, Police Department where he eventually made detective. Upon leaving the police department, he became the head of security for the Pioneer Casino in Laughlin, NV.

He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
