She was the daughter of John Riley and Pattie Jane Andrews Dawkins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lelon Henry Ellis; brother, James Lewis Dawkins; three sisters, Katie Victoria Dawkins Stout, Mary Lucille Dawkins Nance, and Swannie Jackson Dawkins Patterson; half-brother, John Everette Dawkins; and half-sister, Hazel Dawkins Bailey. She was survived by two sons, Don Ellis and Craig Ellis (Ruth); two grandchildren; and sister, Beulah Dawkins Minor.
