Bobbie Jean Isom Sivell was born December 5, 1938, in Buena Vista, Georgia to the late Lila Duncan Isom and Lester B. Isom. She went to work at an early age becoming a seamstress for Playtex in Manchester, GA for over twenty years. After her tenure with Playtex, she became a switchboard operator for Callaway Gardens and retired with over twenty years of service. She married Russell Sivell, and they raised two children together, Dennis and Donna. Mr. Sivell passed away in 1989.
Mrs. Sivell was a devoted caregiver to her family, whom she adored. She enjoyed working, gardening, shopping, baking, and going on vacations with her family. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Pine Mountain.
Bobbie Jean Sivell, 83, of Pine Mountain, Georgia passed away Friday, December 2, 2022, at Columbus Hospice. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Jeanette Sivell, Sara Anthony, Evelyn Watson, Beatrice Grimsley, Preston Isom, L.T. Isom, and Junior Isom.
Survivors include her children, Dennis (Betsy) Sivell and Donna (Johnny Hill) Fryer all of Pine Mountain; siblings, Judy Kirby of LaGrange and Jimmy (Janice) Isom of Mauk; and a host of extended family and friends.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 4, 2022, in the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton with Rev. Paul Fowler officiating. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers, Matt Wood, Shawn Wood, Chad Stephens, Mark Anthony, Bo Isom, and Guy Grimsley. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Grimsley, James Grimsley, and Chris Isom.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Saturday, December 3, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Bethany Baptist Church or Columbus Hospice.
