SAYRE, Okla. —
Two people, including a 10-year-old, were killed, and two other children were injured in a crash near Sayre on Saturday.

Just before 7 a.m., a Chevy Trailblazer driven by 42-year-old Michele Noble departed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 outside of Sayre for an unknown reason, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The vehicle collided with a guardrail, rolled down an embankment and landed on a road under the interstate.

Noble was pronounced dead on the scene. A 10-year-old boy, who was pinned for approximately 45 minutes in the vehicle before being extricated by the Sayre Fire Department, also died on the scene.

A 6-year-old boy was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital in stable condition. A 14-year-old boy was also transported to an Oklahoma City hospital in critical condition.

Noble and the 14-year-old were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, and child restraints were in use by the 6-year-old. The 10-year-old was not wearing his seatbelt.

All passengers were from Tucson, Arizona, according to OHP.

On the morning of December 23, mother, Michele Noble and son, Ryder Noble were tragically killed in a car accident, in Sayre, OK as they were making their way back for Christmas. Services for Michele and Ryder will start early morning on Saturday, December 30, 2023 in Pawnee, OK. Pawnee Nation Housing will begin to feed the family at 8:30am in the Pawnee Nation Community Building, followed by a graveside service at 10:00a at Pawnee's South Cemetery. A memorial will be held at Portland Avenue Baptist Church in Oklahoma City at 2:00p for her friends and family in the OKC metro. Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc is in charge of arrangements.

Michele was born to Roger and Eva (Gardipe) Hedges on July 31, 1981 at Lawton Indian Hospital. She grew up in OKC and loved to spend time with family and friends. She was also an active member of Portland Ave Baptist Church. Her helpful attitude led her to a career in the medical field, medical assisting.

Ryder Noble was born September 18, 2013 to Josh and Michele (Hedges) Noble at Mercy Hospital in OKC. Ryder was young vibrant soul, he enjoyed playing video games, camping and wrestling.

Michele is preceded in death by her mother, Eva (Gardipe) Chapman, her maternal grandmother Pat Clark, her maternal grandfather George Gardipe Sr, her paternal grandparents Max and Lois Hedges, Uncle David Gardipe, Aunt Blanche (Gardipe) and Uncle Chuck Smith.

Michele is survived by her 3 children, Cheyenne (16), Erik (14) and Dakota (6) Noble, Father Roger and wife Christy Hedges of OKC, sister Thea Hedges and 2 nephews, Jordan and Isiah of OKC, brother Shawn and wife April Phillips of Sherman, TX. Sister Amelia Spencer and 2 nieces, Daysha and son Karson, Caitlyn and daughter Rylie, Uncle George & wife Lisa Gardipe and 6 kids of Pawnee, OK, Aunt Leah Riding In-Gardipe Vannoy of Pawnee, Aunt Georgianna (Gardipe) Ross of OKC, and numerous other loving relations.
