Lee Esther Ramey, 91, of North Vernon, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Born on April 30, 1932, in Jefferson County, Esther was the loving daughter of Fred Lee and Clara Mae (Crafton) Bruner. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Ramey on October 1, 1952. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2017.

Esther had worked as a secretary for the Queensville Community Church and enjoyed being a homemaker. She liked to cook, read and research herbal remedies. Most of all, Esther cherished spending time with her loving family.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Wade Lee Ramey and Mark Ivan Ramey; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Clara Bruner; husband, Rev. William "Bill" Ramey; son, Wesley Darren Ramey; daughter, Joy Ellen Ramey; three sisters.
