Born Feb. 20, 1947 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Floyd I. and Alice M. (Seybold) DeGarmo.
Ruth was a graduate of Lock Haven High School.
On Aug. 30, 1969, she married Robert E. Yost, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.
Throughout the years, Ruth was a homemaker and worked various retail jobs. She was then employed at Hearthside Nursing Center, State College, starting as a Dietary Aide and later becoming a Certified Nurses' Aide.
Ruth enjoyed crocheting, gardening and knitting and loved cats. Most important to Ruth, though, was her family.
Friends and family will lovingly remember her for her sassy and "tell-it-like-it-is" personality.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ann M. Moyer.
