Edward "Eddy" Earl Brasher, age 76, of Odenville, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, John E Brasher, sister JoAnn Eaton, and brother Donny Brasher. He is survived by his mother Evalene Brasher, three sons, Blake (Vikki) Brasher, Jessie (Susie) Brasher, Tyler (Jenessa) Paullin, 4 grandchildren, Caroline, Eleanor, Amelia, and Nora. He is also survived by his brothers Danny (Nancy) Brasher and Ricky (Tammy) Brasher, a host of nieces and nephews and his long-time girlfriend, Sherry Robey. Eddy was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired Jefferson County Sheriff Deputy. He served his country for 3 years that included two tours in Vietnam. He served his community as a deputy in the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department for 31 years, including 15 years on the SWAT team. Eddy loved his country, his family, and the outdoors more than anything. He was a wonderful man that had pride in raising his sons, teaching them the values of life and being their biggest fan and critic on and off the baseball field. He had a sense of humor that was unmatched and a heart that was as big as the ocean. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him. Visitation for the family will be Friday, January 5th from 12-1pm at Crossroad Baptist Church 744 Dee Hendrix Road Bessemer, AL 35023, with a short service to follow. He will be placed at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo at 2:45pm.
