Edna was a lifelong resident of Staten Island, NY. She grew up singing in church. She loved singing and studied under Madam Ada Soder Hueck and became a professional singer. She sang soprano in the chorus of several opera companies. In 1917 she debuted as a soloist with the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
On Jun 25, 1921 she married Cecil Bernard Jones in Richmond County, NY. The couple's two daughters, Betty and Jane were born there in New Brighton.
Edna continued her singing career, hosted a radio program on WOR in the early 1930s, and taught music for many years at St. Peter's School for Girls. She also regularly performed solos in the choir at St. Peter's Reformed Catholic Church. Edna retired from her singing career in the late 1940s.
After her husband's death in 1955, Edna did not remarry. Neither of her daughters married. They shared a home in Annadale from 1962 until her death in the Richmond Memorial Hospital. Edna passed away on the 22nd anniversary of her husband's death.
