She was originally from Indiana, where she was a newspaper reporter, a defense plant employee and secretary to two insurance companies. After moving to Kentucky, she was employed in Civil Service at Fort Knox for over thirty-four years. After her retirement she was an associate of Trowbridge Funeral Home for thirteen years. She was a member of Elizabethtown Baptist Church, Hardin County Historical Society, The Milk Glass Society, Drag Racing Auxiliary of Women (DRAW), attended Elizabethtown Christian Women's Connection and was a Kentucky Colonel. She enjoyed NHRA racing, antiques, quilting, sewing, crocheting, reading, and any activities her sons and grandchildren were involved in.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert W. Dunaway; her brother, Randy (Margaret) Robbins; her great grandson, Jack Owen Dunaway and her parents, Maybelle and Anthony Robbins.
She leaves three sons and their wives, Nathan and Brenda Dunaway of Madison, MS, Todd and Casey Dunaway of Glenshaw, PA, and Shawn and Danielle Dunaway of Elizabethtown, KY; ten grandchildren, Emily (Devon) Kreuger, Sydney (Bryce) Schwierling, Peyton Dunaway, Shiloh Dunaway, Parker Dunaway, Blake Dunaway, Brandy Womack, Abby Boutwell, Noah Boutwell, and Logan Harper and three great grandchildren, Lilly Dunaway, Isabella Womack, and Charlie Womack.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Stovall United Methodist Church in Radcliff with burial to follow in Stovall Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-3PM
