Mrs. Lottie Mae Matthews Webster Abernathy

On July 26, 1945, a child was born to Charlie and Ethel Matthews. On December 26, 2023, 78 years later, that child was called to take her rest.

Lottie Mae Matthews Webster Abernathy is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ethel Matthews, husbands William L. Webster and Fulton Abernathy, son William A. Webster, brothers John W. Matthews and Cedric L. Matthews.

She was educated at the Maury County Public Schools and worked at the Maury County Courthouse for many years until retirement. At an early age, she untied with the Booker Ridge Original Church of God where she sang in the choir, usher, and had the privilege to serve on the motherboard. She was a faithful member until her health failed.

She leaves to hold her love and memory: devoted sons Patrick (Patricia) Webster of Mt. Pleasant, TN, and Rodney Webster of Nashville, TN; daughter-in-law Carla (William A.) Webster Columbia, TN; sisters Gayle Matthews of Murfreesboro, TN, and Joyce Addison of Columbia, TN; grandchildren Shawnserray (Jason) Easterling of Columbia, TN, De'Montra (Robin) Webster of Columbia, TN, Ke'Montra Webster of Columbia, TN, Kendall Chavers of Columbia, TN, Kerri Webster of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Warnes (T.C.) Webster of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Madison Webster of Columbia, TN, Cienna (CiCi) Webster of Columbia, TN, Ka'Nishia L. Webster of Nashville, TN, and William (Lil Man) Webster of Nashville, TN; aunt Eunice Frierson of Nashville, TN; and the many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the Canaan and Booker Ridge communities.

She will be sadly missed by all who love her.

The body of Mrs. Lottie Mae Webster Abernathy will Lie in State Friday January 5, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Roundtree, Napier, and Ogilvie's Columbia Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday January 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at 8th and Woodland Church with Funeral Services to follow at 12:00 Noon.
