Ruth B. Buretta, age 92 of Manitowoc, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Angelus Assisted Living Facility in Manitowoc.
The former Ruth Kaminski was born on December 6, 1931 in Manitowoc the daughter of the late Adeline Kaminski. She was a 1950 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School.
On August 28, 1954 Ruth married Victor N. Buretta at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2017.
In the past Ruth worked at the Super Value Grocery Store in Manitowoc and also St. Mary's Home. She enjoyed traveling especially to Alaska and Hawaii. Ruth was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the Manitowoc YMCA.
Survivors include her three children: Russell (Gail) Buretta, Raleigh, NC, Gary (Sheri) Buretta, Eagle River, AK, Cheryl (Chris) Meister, Key West, FL; six grandchildren: Michelle Buretta (Kevin Crenny), Michael Buretta and his fiancée, Alyssa, Carly (Marty) Zacher, Chad Meister, Anastasia (Mack) McClain, Garrison "Bo" Buretta; two great-grandchildren: Dax and Wes Zacher, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Adeline Kaminski; her husband; Victor Buretta; one grandson: Matthew Buretta; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Mary Buretta.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Ruth at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, 1114 South 21st Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Doug LeCaptain will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum.
