RICHARD C. ZAHROBSKY
(1939 - 2024)

Richard Charles Zahrobsky, 84, from the town of Rhine, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at home, surrounded by his family. Dick was born October 24, 1939, in Illinois, to the late Charles and Jennie (Lubic) Zahrobsky. He graduated from Kiel High School in 1957. He served his country in the United States Army Reserves. On June 2, 1962, he married the former Charlotte Kiernan. Dick worked in construction before starting his career for the Sheboygan County Highway Department until his retirement in 2005.

Dick was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel, where he served on the board. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Ada for many years and enjoyed volunteering at Repeat Performance. Dick loved to fish, hunt and enjoyed time spent in his garden.

In addition to his wife, Charlotte, he is survived by his children; Lisa (Richard) Rieth, Brian (Kris) Zahrobsky and Wendy (Steve) Radder, his grandchildren; Rebecca (Eric) Roberts, Eric (Becky Senn) Rieth, Anthony Rieth, Abigail Rieth (Scott Kratz), Meghan (Kyle) Buechel, Travis (Lynn) Duley, Elizabeth (Jake) Schwartz, Joshua Radder and Claire Radder, 14 great-grandchildren; his sister, Jean Thomas; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles Kiernan and Virginia Broehm and his dog and best bud, Brutus. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Charles and Evelyn Kiernan, sisters: Charleen (Charles) Teege and Rosalyn (Arthur) Powell; brothers-in-law: James Thomas, Ronald Broehm and Randolph Kiernan.



Funeral services for Dick will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, (387 Cemetery Road, Kiel) with Rev. Brett Naumann officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, at the church, from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM, when brief family rites will be held, followed by the service. Interment will be at Schleswig Cemetery at a later date.
