Earl Wayne Fowler was married three times; his wives were:


1. Opal Ruth Johnson Fowler Whitcomb, married 2 May 1964 in Los Angeles, California; they had two sons:

-- Gerald Wayne "Jerry" Fowler (24 February 1965 - 6 December 1989)

-- Kenneth Dale Fowler (b. 8 April 1967)


Earl and Opal were divorced 1 December 1970 in Amarillo, Potter, Texas.


2. Mary E. Fields Fowler (b. 1 February 1964), married circa February 1988 in Albuquerque, Bernalillo, New Mexico. Mary is the daughter of Walter Lee Fields and Lola Ella Smith Fields.


3. Natoma Joyce "Toni" Barton Sena Fowler (b. July 1943), married 5 July 2003 in Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, New Mexico. Natoma is the daughter of Carroll Hershel Barton and Frances Myrtle Watson Barton.


Earl Wayne Fowler, age 80, passed away December 29, 2023 in Albuquerque, NM.

Earl was born on December 19, 1943 in Laguna Beach, CA to his parents, Earl Fowler Sr. and Mildred Powell Fowler.


Earl was one of six children. **[Great-nephew's note: he was one of his mother Mildred's six children; he was one of eight children for his father]**


Earl is survived by his wife, Natoma "Toni" Fowler of New Mexico, son, Kenneth Fowler and his wife, Wanda of Texas, brother, Melvin Fowler and his wife, Pamela of Texas, step-son, Sean Sena and his wife, Nicole of New Mexico and grandchildren, Jocelynn Sena and Zacharia Sena of New Mexico and many grandchildren.


Earl is also survived by his faithful dog, Nala.


Earl entered into the United States Marine Corps in 1962 and he served in Vietnam, he was awarded the Navy Cross, the Purple Heart (3 awards), National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Earl attained the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He served his country with honor. Earl was medically retired.

Earl was a member of the "Jerry" Murphy Marine Corps League #381, Albuquerque, NM.

Later in life he wrote a book, The Long Journey Home: A Treatise on the Effects of PTSD to the Combat Veteran and Their Loved Ones. Available on Amazon in Kindle edition only.

He also invented fire suppression equipment.


A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. Live stream link will be on his website. Committal Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM.
