Obituary
It is with a heavy heart and much sadness we announce the passing of our family's patriarch, who was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and community member. Delbert Keith Falsken, who was loved by his family and lived a long and respectful life, was 93 years old. He passed away in his residence at Rowntree Gardens with his wife Anna holding his hand, and the rest of his immediate family who were so grateful to have been with him the day prior to let him know how loved, appreciated and respected he was to all of them. He is survived by his wife Anna, his daughter Lisa, his son Kevin, his daughter-in-law Michelle, and his 4 grandchildren Delaney, Kaden, Alexandrea and Makenna.

Del was born in Verdon and grew up in Falls City, Nebraska and he was the second of three boys. His family were sharecroppers and he was raised on a small farm in Richardson County, and walked to a one room school house for the first 8 years of his education. Del would remind us often how good we have it because he "did not have electricity or running water growing up", he was bred to work hard and take responsibility. He later graduated from Falls City High School, and Chillicothe Business College.

He was very proud to have served 4 years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, where he spent a year on the USS Whitehurst Destroyer Escort ship, and 3 years stationed in Yokosuka, Japan working for a Captain and Rear Admiral.

During the war, he and his future wife, Anna, were pen pals and fell in love. Once he returned home from the war, their love grew and they were married in 1956, and were together for over 67 years. They moved from Nebraska to California in 1959 were Del furthered his career in the banking industry working for First Security Bank and its successors. They bought their first home in Torrance in 1960 where they were blessed with the arrival of their two children. After Del received a promotion to manage a bank branch in Orange County, the family moved to Seal Beach in 1971 where he and Anna raised their children with much love and enduring support. An avid sports fan and eager audience member of all activities that his family was involved in, Del never missed one of his children's numerous soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, etc. games, and kept that streak going with all his grandkids, and nieces & nephews. The family shared many great memories together with him both on and off the playing field. He and Anna lived in their home in the College Park East area of Seal Beach for 52 years. They truly enjoyed living there and were also devout parishioners of St. Hedwig's Catholic Church.

We will always remember his big smile and beautiful blue eyes, which would especially light up when any of his four grandkids walked in the room. He was always ready for a big hug, a good laugh, and loved a tasty donut. We will all miss him greatly, and we are so thankful for all he taught us, his never-ending support of us, and most of all his love for us.
