FEBRUARY 19, 1936 – JANUARY 5, 2024

William Alvis (Bill) Coble was born on February 19, 1936 near Mansfield Texas. He was the third son of Harry Coble and Benita Hamil Coble and spent much of his early life as an entrepreneurial kid in Godley Texas. He got his first job at age 7 penning a neighbor's cows for 5 cents a day.

After high school, Bill served in the U.S. Army, then went on to graduate from the University of Texas with honors in 1962.

Bill had a long and successful career with Southwestern Bell and AT&T. In addition to working in many locations throughout Texas, Bill also worked in New Jersey and led teams at AT&T Headquarters in New York City. He became a Division Manager and served as an area Vice President, managing organizations of up to 2,000 people. He retired in 1987. Bill and Ruthie moved to Burnet in 2002.

In one of Bill's early work assignments, he arrived in Marlin Texas as a 27 year old career-focused bachelor. Two months later he met a beautiful young widower, Ruth Ingram, with two little girls; Linda who was age 10, and Lisa who was just 6 weeks old! Bill quickly fell in love with all three and they would soon become 'HIS GIRLS". Bill and Ruth were married on September 19, 1964.

Bill is survived by his two daughters Linda Ingram-McCubbin (Joe) and Lisa Coble Woolston (Steve), granddaughter Shannon, great granddaughter Madilyn, loving companion Louise Jones, as well as a host of family and friends who loved him dearly. Bill was predeceased by his wife Ruth Wornat Ingram Coble; his parents, Harry and Benita Coble; his brothers, Harry Doyle Coble and Rodger David Coble and his grandson Jason McCubbin.
