Melva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked selflessly , always putting her family's needs above her own. One of her passions was to cook and bake for her family. She treasured family gatherings.
She leaves behind to treasure her memory five children, Velma Nix (Robert), Warren Landry, Michael Landry, John Landry, Jr., and Rachel Gauthier. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Christy Cavalier (Joey), Tori Smith (Garrett), Dustin Nix, Nicole Cavalier, Michelle Landry, Katelyn Gauthier, and Kayla Gauthier; four great-grandchildren, Chelsey Cavalier, Brady Cavalier, Madison Watson and Wyatt Smith.
Melva is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Landry, Sr.; her parents, Sidney and Camilla Albarado; two daughters, Janice Landry and Marion Landry; a granddaughter, Melissa Landry; a grandson, Michael Heffernan. Melva is the last of her ten siblings to depart this earth.
The family would like to thank Cardinal Hospice of Baton Rouge for the compassion and comfort provided to Melva and her family. They would also like to thank everyone at the Assumption Healthcare and Rehabilitation of Napoleonville.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part, LA, from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with interment to follow in the church mausoleum.
