Ernest C. Keller 86, Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Eleventh Street Tower, Altoona, died Tuesday at the home.

He was born in Lakemont, son of the late Walter Smith and Iona (Weaver) Keller. He married Pauline M. Bastian Sept.13, 1947, in Baltimore. She died July 9, 1995.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter S. Keller Jr.; and sisters: Grace Long, Alberta Dodson and Mildred Bloom.

He attended Grace Family Bible Church.

Ernest retired from the maintenance department of Amtran Bus Co.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in Normandy and northern France. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Service Medal with five Bronze Stars and the Victory Medal.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2008, at the funeral home officiated by Pastor James Zaebst. Interment will be held at Alto Reste Park.
