George C. Halliwell passed away December 28, 2023. George was born on May 18, 1942 in Wadsworth, Ohio, where he was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the Wadsworth Eagles, American Legion, and VFW. As a Journeyman Carpenter, George worked in housing construction.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George N. and MaryJane Halliwell; son, Jeffrey C. Halliwell; and daughter-in-law, Signe Halliwell.
George is survived by his wife of 58 years, Karen; children, James R. (Guixiang) Halliwell and Stephanie (David) Ebner; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Halliwell; grandchildren, Jeffrey C. Halliwell, Benton G. Halliwell, Elizabeth (Jacob) Thompson, Ronald (Tracy) Brogan, and Logan J. Halliwell; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Hadley, and Levi Thompson; siblings, Patricia (Jake) Dye, Jean Brady, Nora Kathleen Detwiler, Karen Jacobs; Uncle James and Aunt Ann Stronz; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 8, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High St., Wadsworth, OH. A private committal service for George and his son, Jeffrey Sr., will be Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery Committal Shelter in Wadsworth, OH with Deacon Rich Mitchney officiating,
