On June 21st 1937, Nancy Fern Conway was abruptly stabbed in a Honolulu bar by James I Terry, described as her former common-law husband. Nancy was gravely injured but survived & recovered. Terry was convicted of assault & battery with a deadly weapon and sentenced to five years in prison (to serve 18 months minimum).
