Obituary:

Robert L. "Bob" Ross of Navasota passed away Sunday, March 15th. Visitation with family and friends will be held Tuesday, March 17, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be celebrated Wednesday, March 18th at 10:00 am at the funeral home with the Rev. C. McAllister "Mac" Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Bob was born October 7, 1940 in College Station to Emmitt and Albina (Blazek) Ross. He graduated from high school and enrolled at Texas A&M University. He was a member of the A & M Corps of Cadets and graduated in 1966 with a BA in accounting. On September 2nd of that same year, Bob married the love of his life, Annie Frances Bounds. Together they raised two sons. Bob had been working for the Texas Department of Corrections in Huntsville, but soon moved to Navasota to work for his father-in-law at Navasota LP Gas. He would later buy the business in 1983. Bob became very active in his community, serving as a city councilman, Little League coach, board member for Texas Propane Gas Association, and lifetime member of the Rattler Booster Club. He was passionate about all sports, but baseball was his favorite. Bob never failed to attend his sons, and later his grandchildren's games. They knew that they could look up in the stands and find him, cheering for them and giving his steadfast support. He was their biggest fan. Truthful and honest, giving his opinion only when asked for, Bob instilled in his sons a sense of integrity, a strong work ethic and the importance of a mans word and a firm handshake. Although he still retained ownership of Navasota LP Gas, Bob semi-retired in 2019, shortly before losing his beloved wife of 53 years, Annie, in October. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing or piddling around the place in Anderson. Bob was a self-proclaimed multi-tasker…he could read the newspaper, watch a game on television and hear the Aggie game on the radio all at the same time. His greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather and Aggie.

Bob is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Robert Chad and Stacey Lynn (Parker) Ross and Tommy Dwayne and Kimberly Lynn (Becker) Ross; brother Jackie D. Ross; sisters Patsy Sargent, Helen Kennon, Mickey Gandy, Dianne Feldman and Sue Flato; sister-in-law Mary Lee Bounds and grandchildren Robert Cory Ross, Taylor Ann Ross and Abigail Lynn Ross.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Ross, Jeff Sargent, David Feldman, Scott Briers, Rodney Sechelski and Robby Robbins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Annie; sisters Irene Miller and Nell Summerlin and brother Emmitt J. Ross, Jr.
