Billie Rex Mace, 96, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

Bill was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on March 28, 1927 to the late Mack and Ellen (Hopkins) Mace. He honorably served in the United States Army. Bill was proud to have been a participant of the Honor Flight. He earned a masters degree in education from Indiana State University. Bill worked as a printer for Powell-Matthews Printing Co. and later for Indiana State University. He also worked as a press operator and photo darkroom assistant for Thomson-Symon Printing Co., was a teacher and printer for Evansville Vanderburgh Corporation, and a supervisor at Roberts Stadium.

Bill is survived by his son, Thomas Mace.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (Rogers) Mace; his parents; brothers, Darrell Mace, Jack Mace, and Gerald Mace.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Rev. Dennis Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 11:00 am until service time on Friday.
