Francis James Harris, 91, of Moultrie, GA, formerly of Georgetown, GA and Albany, GA passed away, Monday, January 22, 2024 at Magnolia Manor Assisted Living in Moultrie, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Parker will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg, GA.
Born in Oakfield, GA , Mr. Harris moved to Albany, GA in 1945 and remained until 2019 before moving to Georgetown, GA. He was a graduate of Albany High School and was employed with Albany Outboard Marine for twenty one years and Huggins Outboard Marine for thirty seven years. He was a member of Eager Avenue Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph W. Harris, Sr. and Dorcas Lillian Shiver Harris and a brother, Joseph W. (Little Buddy) Harris, Jr .
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Myrtle Fleetwood Harris, Moultrie, GA, sons and their wives, Jimmy Harris (Robin Anne), Dawson, GA, Steve Harris (Donna Doster), Georgetown, GA, and Timothy Harris (Peggy Marlene), Sylvania, GA, grandchildren, Christina Owens, Tifton, GA, Jessica Harris, Leesburg, GA, Jacob Harris, Statesboro, Ga, Caleb Harris, Duluth, GA and great-grandchildren, Nora Grace Owens, Tifton, GA, Lena Faith Owens, Tifton, GA, Julian David Salter, Leesburg, GA.
