A. Stuart Wheelwright Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park on Jan. 23, 2024.

Ogden, UT – A. Stuart (Stu) Wheelwright, 79, passed away peacefully at his home on December 26, 2023. He was born in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, on July 1, 1944, the eldest of five children born to Alexander Stuart and Margaret Allen Wheelwright.
Stu attended Ogden area schools and graduated from Ogden High in 1962. He attended Weber State College, where he studied art.
On March 28, 1970, Stu married Kim Butze, and they raised two beautiful daughters together. Kim passed away in 2001. In 2002, Stu met Lori Carver and they were married on June 11, 2005.
Soon after leaving school, Stu started his own business, Village Fair, where for nearly 20 years he and Kim sold everything from handcrafted leather clothing and custom sandals to skateboards, snowboards, and Hobie Cat catamarans. He was a successful businessman and soon broadened his acumen to include real estate and nutritional supplements.
In 1984, he founded Systemic Formulas in Ogden, an herbal health company that utilized formulas passed to him by his father. Stu served as its president until the time of his death. His imaginative and unorthodox way of looking at the world helped him to navigate business challenges and formulate creative solutions that others might not think of.
Stu will be remembered for his genuine love and generous nature. He was warm-hearted and constant and could always be relied upon for solid advice, a listening ear, and interesting conversation. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served his community for many years as part of the Boy Scouts of America organization. He cherished time spent with family and friends.
As an admitted "foodie," Stu loved to experience all kinds of foods from all over the world. He was an accomplished cook and will be well-remembered for his amazing grilled salmon. Every December, he and his wife Lori would hold an annual Christmas luncheon for hundreds of friends and family. He was always ready to offer his culinary skills to backyard parties, weddings, and conferences.
Stu's love of travel gave him ample opportunities to engage his fondness for good food, photography, sailing, and skiing. As a gifted artist, Stu created many beautiful works that grace the homes of those he loves. His artistry knew no bounds. His gift was to see the world and those around him through an artist's eyes.
Stu is survived by his wife, Lori; two daughters, Heather (Duane) Coombs and Nicole (Tyson) Sugihara; three siblings: Lew (Roberta) Wheelwright, Kim (Rhonda) Wheelwright, and Launale Morris; three stepchildren: Stacey (Ryan) Mendoza, Katie Ann Carver (Ron Manus), and Kelly (Katie) Carver; one grandchild: Desatoya Coombs, and six step-grandchildren: Adison and Aspen Carver, Easton and Davis Mendoza, Kerrin Jeffs, and Karson Sugihara, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kevin; his brother-in-law, Randy; and his late wife, Kim.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 5191 Old Post Road, Ogden, Utah. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah and again on Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
Interment will be at Lindquist Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughtfulness and support.
