Karen M. Ekdahl, 52, a resident of N. Laurel Park Dr. Livonia and former Negaunee resident passed away Saturday evening at the Sinai Hospital in Detroit following a difficult illness for the past year. The former Karen Peterson was born on October 26, 1939 in Laurium a daughter of Lillian and the late John Peterson. She moved with her family to Detroit at the age of 5. She later moved to Negaunee in 1977 and lived there until 1989 when moving back to Livonia to make her home. She worked as a office manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for several years in Detroit. She was a very dedicated and inspirational person to her family and to all who knew her. On May 1, 1965 she married Frederick Ekdahl in Southfield, Michigan. She was a member of Southfield Apostolic Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her Father John and a brother Donald.
