OBITUARY


Samuel L. Duckworth of Las Cruces passed away after a long illness from which he had gradually been sinking. Funeral services were held Sunday, Rev. T.L. Lallance officiating.


Mr. Duckworth was born at Milo, Arkansas, May 7, 1877, and was 44 years of age at the time of his death. On December 25, 1902 he was united in marriage to Miss Frances Swagerty of Fayetteville, Ark. To this union were born two daughters, Zella and Grace, who survive him. He is also survived by his mother, four brothers and three sisters.


Mr. Duckworth was a veteran of the Spanish-American was and also was in hospital service in the Phillipines.

Samuel was diagnosed with Tuberculosis in 1919 which ultimately led to his death.
