Orleans County Monitor (Barton, VT), July 10, 1876, p.3. "At San Jose, Cal., at the residence of the bride's parents, April 24, by the Rev. C. C. Stratton, Mr. Charles O. Field and Miss Mary E. Gardner."

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Nov. 27, 1880, p.3, col.1. "C. O. Fields, a citizen of Dayton, died at that place a few days ago."

Columbia Daily Chronicle, Dec. 29, 1883, p.3, col.4. "The body of C. O. Fields, who died in this city some two or three years ago, will be disinterred this evening and shipped to San Jose, Cal., tomorrow."

According to cemetery receipts, this plot was purchased by Mrs. M. E. Field on Jan. 16, 1884.
