Lawrence "Larry" Monroe Higdon, 74, of Lexington IN, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024 at Wedgewood Healthcare Center in Clarksville IN. He was born March 9, 1949 in Rushville IN to the late James Owen Higdon and the late Ella Marie Boone Higdon. He was married for 43 years to Carol Ann Goar Higdon who passed away August 7, 2019. Larry was Vice President of Procurement for Morgan Foods for 45 years. He was a graduate of Scottsburg High School, Class of 1967. Larry held membership with American Martyrs Catholic Church in Scottsburg. He was a big U of L Cardinal fan. Larry was a hard worker, a farmer of corn, soybeans and tobacco. He enjoyed playing golf, enjoyed fishing, loved classic cars, and loved to travel and see new places. He was funny, loved to joke around, got along with everyone and had no enemies. Larry was always supportive of his children and loved them and his grandchildren and loved his dog Abby. He was generous to a fault. Survivors: daughters Laura Vance (Richard) of Greenville IN, Lisa McClanahan (Michael) of Nebraska, Kimberly Lawrence (Russell) of Florida, Stephanie Provines (Tom) of Lexington IN; brothers Jim Higdon of Louisville KY, Walter Higdon (Joyce) of Scottsburg IN, Raymond Higdon (Carol) of Lexington IN; sisters Rose Jones of Louisville KY and Norma Jean Burress (Phil) of Indianapolis; 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation: 5pm – 7pm, Friday, February 2, 2024 at Christensen-Hoagland Family Funeral Home, 80 N 1st St., Scottsburg IN 47170.

Funeral Service: 7pm, Friday, February 2, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Hudson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Lexington Cemetery.
