He graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1947.
He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard where he served for three years and was honorably discharged.
Mark attended Michigan State University and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in 1957. He worked for the State of Michigan for 25 years before retiring in 1984.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mark was a member of the Elks 700 and St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and traveling.
He will be greatly missed by his 3 daughters: Margaret "Margi" Sanderson of Kingsford, MI; Anne (Tony) Amicangelo of Iron Mountain, MI and Jean (Robert) Groeneveld of Kingsford, MI;
a daughter-in-law, Tischa (Mark) Agnessi;
9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his son, Mark Agnessi Jr.;
an infant daughter, Mary Beth Agnessi;
a grandson, Miles Groeneveld;
2 brothers: Peter Agnessi and Leo Agnessi;
a sister, Anna (Ernest) Mariucci;
and his former wife, Marilyn Fayas.
Per Mark's request, private family services will be held.
