Sharon Kay Abbott, age 80, of Ulman, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on June 19, 1943, daughter of the late Lloyd Lamonte and Ruby Geraldine (Clark) Helton. On January 14, 1960, at the Iberia First Christian Church, Sharon was united in marriage to Larry "Bud" Eugene Abbott, who preceded her in death on November 17, 2020.

Sharon loved making ceramics and porcelain dolls, and had a talent for painting, sewing, and quilting. She enjoyed traveling and camping in the mountains with her husband, Bud. Sharon cherished spending time with her family, especially during the joyous Christmas Season, where she took pleasure in decorating the tree and creating timeless memories. Sharon was an active member of Tuscumbia Christian Church.

She is survived by her son, Rick Abbott of Ulman; daughter, Kelly (Hank) Newcomb of Crocker; six grandchildren, Lacie Christensen, Cody (Merridy) Abbott, Joshua Newcomb, Caleb Newcomb, Eligh Newcomb, and Alex Abbott; four great-grandchildren, Marley Grace, Ollee, Blakely, and Silas; four siblings, Judy (George) Kuhn, Charlotte (Richard) Brumley, Melissa (Iva) Barnhart, and Steve (Ashley) Helton; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Larry, she was also preceded in death by her son, Kraig Abbott, brother, Terry Helton; and sister, Janice Smith.

Visitation will be held from 12 (noon) to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Monday, February 5, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Stephen McFadden and Charlie Worstell officiating. Interment will be held in Concord Cemetery near Crocker.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Tuscumbia Christian Church or Mt. Zion Christian Church.
