Nancy Walker, 96, of Hanover Twp. went home to be with the Lord on Friday. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mom, gram and nana to her family.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Mart and Marie Annacaro Desiderio; infant son, Robert; brothers, Anthony, Nicolas and James; and sisters, Sadie and Mariette.

For many years, Nancy was an active member at Lyndwood Congregational Church. She was involved in many church organizations, such as the Pal Club, IAH Club, Sunday school and the Women's Organization. She was currently one of the oldest members at Christ United Presbyterian Church in Lee Park.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 75 years, Albert L. Walker Sr.; and her three children, Albert Walker Jr. and his wife, Lorraine; Nancy Ann Walker and Marie Carchilla and her husband, Joseph, all of Hanover Twp. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren, Ronald Walker and wife Mary Lou, Bellfonte; Donna Verfin and husband Michael; and Albert Walker III and his wife Tammy, all of Hanover Twp.; Judith Ann Chintalla and husband, Joseph, Wilkes-Barre; Carla Sheeder and husband Eric; Joseph Carchilla III and Marie Carchilla Balakier ad husband, Michael, all of Hanover Twp.; 10 great-grandchildren, Katie and John Walker; Samantha and Alison Verfin; Matthew, Marissa and Zachzry Walker, Jeffrey and Jessica Chintalla and Joseph Carchilla IV; her brothers, Basil and Mart; her sisters, Mem, Michaelene, Rita and Josephine; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Richard Huntington, Debbie Temerantz, Dr. John Guerriero and all who assisted in her care, especially Jen and Diane.

Family and friends may call Sunday evening at Desiderio Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre. A funeral service will be held Monday morning at Christ United Presbyterian Church, Hanover Twp., with the Rev. Anne Emery officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
