Hilda Macon Young, 86, of Berlin, Germany, passed away on February 2, 2024 in Nashville, TN. She was born on November 24, 1937, and was a loving and dedicated daughter, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Hilda was a resilient woman who came to the United States from war-torn Germany when her mother married an American soldier.
Hilda was a selfless and generous person who always put her family first. She was married to Faron Young for 32 years and together they had four children. Her life was characterized by her unwavering care and support for her family throughout all stages of life. Hilda's nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family as she also cared for her beloved dog, Ollie.
In addition to her role as a dedicated homemaker, Hilda had a passion for bowling. She was an avid bowler for many years and also actively participated in school and scouting activities with her children.
Hilda is survived by her children: Robyn Young (Bonnie), Kevin Young (Beth), and Alana Young (Sam); her grandchildren: Christopher Young (Roberta) and Taylor Young (Lizzie); and her great-grandchild Benjamin Young.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Vally Macon; her father, Robert Macon; her ex-husband, Faron Young; and her son, Damion Young.
A Funeral service to honor Hilda's life will be held on February 6th, 2024 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, located at 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. Visitation will take place from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., followed by the service at 2:00 P.M. The funeral will be presided over by her grandson: Rev. Taylor Young
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made in Hilda's honor to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
