SAUERWALD -- On 1st May, at 6 pm, Mrs. MARGERETTA SAUERWALD, in her 92d year.


Her funeral will take place from the residence of her son, Frederick Sauerwald, 436 Frederick Avenue, on Thursday afternoon, May 3, at three o'clock.

Mrs. MARGARETTA SAUERWALD, who had lived on the Frederick road for the past 25 years, died on Tuesday in the 92d year of her age. She leaves four children, twenty-one grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Sie war 92 Jahre alt, in Hessen-Darmstadt geboren und seit 40 Jahren in Baltimore wohnhaft. Sie hinterläzt drei Söhne, eine Tochter, 21 Enkel und zehn Ur-enkel. Translation: The death of a very old German woman. - In the home of Mr. Friedrich Sauerwald, number 436 Frederick Avenue, whose mother Mrs. Margarethe Sauerwald died on last Tuesday. She was 92 years old, was born in Hessen-Darmstadt and since 40 years ago resided in Baltimore. She leaves behind three sons, one daughter, 21 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren

In the 1850 US Census, Margaret Sourwalt, aged 52, was widowed and living in Baltimore with Jacob (20), William (15), and Frederick (14), who were basket makers, and also with Elizabeth (23), and Catherine (9). All were immigrants to the United States and had been born in Germany (1850 US Census)


In the 1860 US Census, Margaret Sauerwald, aged 60, lived in Baltimore with Frederick (24), William (27), and Charles Sauerwald (11 months). All were born in Saxony, Germany except for Charles, who was born in Maryland. (1860 US Census)
