Mr. Martha H. Mays, widow of the late Frank Mays, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Amy, on East Second Street, at 9 o'clock Friday night, from tuberculosis, after a long illness. The deceased was 57 years of age, and was born in the State of New York, and came to this city in the late 60s, with her husband, who was at that time employed as a driver of No. 2 hose team. When the death of her husband occurred last February, Mrs. Mays had been helpless from paralysis for more than two years, was was taken to Rochester, New York, by a niece, with whom she made her home until August, when she was brought to Oil City by Mrs. M. P. Amy, the sister of her husband. The arrangements for the funeral were not completed last night, but it will probably take place on Sunday, and will be private.
Death certificate gives age as 57 years, 1 month and 6 days. Daughter of Allen Blake & don't know. Brother-in-law, M. P. Amy, was informant. Buried on November 29, 1908.
