Almeda Carmean Ondo, 97, passed peacefully on February 6, 2024 at Van Crest Nursing Home in Delphos.

She was born December 2, 1926, to Gordie and Agnes (Kohorst) Carmean of Delphos.

On November 9, 1966, she married John Steve Ondo of Granville, West Virginia and they lived in Elida, Ohio for 49 years of marriage.

Almeda is survived by a son, John P. (Angel) Ondo who lives in New Albany, Ohio, brother-in-law Richard Suever and sister-in-law, Betty-Jo Carmean both of Delphos, three grandchildren, Elaine, Julia & Alex, and two step-grandchildren, Abbey (Austin) Cavalancia and Zach Puderbaugh.

Almeda had worked at DWG Cigar Factory in Delphos and Lima, which is where she met her husband, John. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed cooking, baking, and loved to crochet. She also loved to read and garden. But her true love was her family and extended family. She was a 1945 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School.

A visitation with family and friends will be Tuesday, February 13, at 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos. Celebration of life will be Wednesday February 14 at 11 a.m. also at Harter & Schier followed by burial in Kings Cemetery in Middle Point with Pastor Mark Bayliff officiating.
