The Northern Tribune, Gouverneur, NY March 25, 1925

Mrs. Johannah C. Markwick aged 79 years died at her home on Parker Street this morning at 10:30 o'clock after several months of poor health. Mrs. Markwick was born in Montreal Canada, the daughter of Timothy and Mary Donahue Corbett. She has resided in Gouverneur for the past 20 yrs., moving with her family from Antwerp.

Mrs. Markwick was twice married, her first husband, Alonzo Hall having died about 50 yrs. ago. She was later married to John Markwick who survives her.. Besides her husband she is survived by 3 sons of her first marriage, Jason, Albert and Lewis Hall, all of Antwerp, and 3 sons by the last marriage, Steven, Everett and Alger Markwick, all of this village, also two sisters, Mrs. Katie Best (?Bass), Sommerville and Mrs. Mary Sprague, Antwerp.

Funeral services will be held from her late home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev William Skinner, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate, and burial will be made in Riverside Cemetery
