DANVILLE, Jan. 14-Aaron M. Heusser 54, died in a Walnut Creek hospital last night three hours after authorities said he apparently shot himself in the mouth with a rifle.
His wife, Jewel Mary, told Contra Costa sheriff's deputies that he had been watching a television with her in their home at 305 Linda Mesa.
He got up, she said, went into the bathroom, then to the bedroom. She heard a thud and found him lying on the floor. There was no note.
Mrs. Heusser told officers her husband was suffering from asthma, arthritis and heart condition and had been despondent for the past three days.
