The Sun Herald (Biloxi, MS) January 24, 2004 > Harold Wayne Alsup, age 83, of Long Beach, MS, died Thursday, January 22, in Gulfport. Mr. Alsup was born January 16, 1921 in Lillian, TX, and had been a resident of Long Beach for 15 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gulfport. Mr. Alsup was retired from Dynelectron Corporation. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Alsup was preceded in death by his father, Oscie E. Alsup; a brother, Robert Alsup; a sister Earlene Clauser. Survivors include his wife Peggy K. Alsup of Long Beach, three sons, Robert Alsup and his wife Lota, of Chattanooga, TN, Harold Wade Alsup of Austin, TX, and Michael Alsup and his wife Lien, of Tulsa, OK. two step-daughters, Peggy Gunter Stone and her husband Jimmy, of Mobile, AL, and Diane Cueves Thornton and her husband Bill of Gulfport; his mother, Myrtle Inez Alsup of Garland, TX, a sister Maxine Estes and her husband Virgil, of Garland, TX; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two devoted caregivers, Marie Brantley and Daisy Brown. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 until 8 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Gulfport. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Monday going to Biloxi National Cemetery for a graveside service at 9 a.m.
